News and announcements from The InterChange Desk
Apologies to regular readers of The InterChange Desk for my continuing absence, and the lack of posts recently.
Ironically my blogging here have resulted in some work which has become ongoing, but has left less time to spend researching and writing InterChange Desk articles.
At this stage I am not sure how long this state of affairs will continue for, but will post further updates from time to time.
In the meantime I am still updating my personal blog disassociated.com (more opinion, rather than fact, based!), so I haven’t dropped out of the blogosphere totally!

News and announcements from The InterChange Desk
It’s been a little quieter around here than I anticipated it would be, and I apologise to my regular readers for the slow down recently. The other projects I am involved with have required more of my time than I originally thought they would. I should have seen that coming though!
Despite this The InterChange Desk is still managing to make a few waves.
I was recently invited by Anthony Dever to make a guest post at the satirical Australian TV awards website, The Fuglies.
While just a little different my from my usual writings on career change matters it was nevertheless a fun undertaking! Thanks again for the invitation to participate Anthony!
Also a number of posts here have also been featured on some blog carnivals, including IQI Strategic Management Inc, Life Insurance Lowdown, Career Intensity, Living by Design Blog, Balanced Life Center, and Creating Abundant Lifestyles. My thanks to the respective organisers for including my work.
These blogs all feature a variety of articles on life balance and career matters so please visit them for more reading.

News and announcements from The InterChange Desk
I don’t seem to post news updates as often as I would like to, but thought I should since The InterChange Desk has been online for three months now!
Time flies when you’re having fun as the saying goes, and the past three months have certainly proved that old maxim correct! It’s been a fun time writing about my career changes experiences and hearing about other people’s as well.
As of Monday I will taking on a new full time project for about a month, and just so I don’t over commit myself too much, will be posting here three times a week rather than the more regular five, for the duration.
Hopefully this will only be short term, and normal transmission will resume as soon as possible.
Being the three month mark I would just to thank you all for your support, readership, comments, and emails and messages.
In the meantime should you want to contact me please feel free to leave a comment, or send a message through my contact form.

News and announcements from The InterChange Desk
Today’s news update is brought to you by the work “networking”.
The way to get a head in any endeavour is to network, network, network.
Personally I’m a little slack in this regard, and rather than network, network, network I maybe only network! I guess it’s just who I am though, a more of a behind the scenes sort of person.
Whatever though, you should get out and give it a go. This week the monthly Sydney Bloggers meet-up was held on Tuesday night. A great time was had by all who attended (thanks to event organiser Sara Goldstein, aka the Bargain Queen!), and it’s always great to meet up with people who have similar interests.
If time or distance prevent you from getting along to face-to-face gatherings though, search around for some online communities that cater to your field of interest instead.
For instance Lars-Christian Simonsen from Norway has recently established, Bloggst, a resource for bloggers old and new, which features a very friendly and helpful discussion forum.
And why all the focus on blogging today? What has it to do with changing careers? A lot really, since blogging is a form of networking, and networking is particularly useful for career changers. I’ll tell you more about it soon though.

News and announcements from The InterChange Desk
Time is flying by. The InterChange Desk has been online five weeks now, yet it feels like only yesterday that I was customising the Wordpress templates to create this site!
Once again I’d just thank everyone who has dropped by for a look, and sent messages or feedback. I appreciate it!
A few more of my articles have been included in blog carnivals recently, and thanks to Verve Coaching, Victor-Fam.com, The Probabilist, and Three Sticks, for featuring me.
And here’s something that will be of interest to the bloggers among us. Rand8 is a print magazine that aggregates blog posts and publishes the best submissions each month. How cool would that be, seeing your name, and work, in print? I wonder if they’ll choose me?!

News and announcements from The InterChange Desk
And at the end of the third week at The InterChange Desk I’d once again just like to thank everyone who has stopped by to have a look.
A few of my articles here have appeared in Blog Carnivals over the last couple of weeks, so thanks to Career Intensity, Creating A Better Life, and Bryan C Fleming for featuring me.
Also, as mentioned last week I am in the process of preparing a links page. If you know of any quality career resources that you think should be included please drop me a line, or leave a comment with some details.
Be sure to return again on Monday for the second article in our “Finding Career Direction” series. If there’s time next week (and there’s a lot of ground to cover here!) we’ll also have a look at some CV, or Resume, writing tips for career changers. Until then have a great weekend!

News and announcements from The InterChange Desk
Well here we are, almost at the end of the first week of The InterChange Desk.
I’d just like to thank everyone who has dropped by and had a look at what’s happening here. I hope you will find this site a useful resource, if not right now, then certainly at some point in the future.
With the design and setup of the site is pretty much complete, I can now focus more on content production and also start spreading the word about this place.
As the The InterChange Desk has a Monday to Friday working week, we’ll see you again on Monday. Thanks once more for dropping by, and always free to send a message, or leave a comment, if you wish to contact us.
Have a great weekend!
