		<description>Interesting point! Companies are sometime required to advertise jobs for various reasons, because of internal policies, and/or employment laws (particularly if they are some sort of government agency). 

Sometimes a &quot;preferred candidate&quot; has already been identified and given the role, but still there is a requirement to advertise it, accept applications, and then turn around and say no one who applied was suitable, except an internal candidate who ended up being selected.

It&#039;s a waste of money and time, especially for those applying in good faith for a job that has already been filled.</description>
